Photograph of Great Digamber Jain Saint Acharya Shri Vidya Sagar Ji MaharajBhagyoday Tirth (Charitable Trust) was established in 1993 with the blessings of great (Digamber Jain Saint Acharya Shri Vidya Sagar Ji Maharaj) for setting up of a Charitable Human Welfare Hospital and Research Centre at Sagar in the service of ' Poorest of Poor'. The endeavour of the research centre would be to carry out research in various branches of medical science. Madhya Pradesh Government has already granted permission for establishing a Medical College and a Hospital. The functioning of the Trust is purely on Humanitarian grounds and without any discrimination of caste, creed, colour, sex, nationality etc. The endeavour of the research centre centre would be to carry out integrated research in various branches of Medical Sciences besides establishing Allopathic,Ayurvedic, Naturopathy Hospital and Artificial limb centre.

The total cost of the project is likely to be over Rs. 60 Crorers. The foundation stone of the hospital building was laid in May 1995 in the holy presence of Acharya Shree, congregation of Jain Saints and public. Hospital building complex costing around Rs. 4 Crores is almost ready. In fact 108 bed hospital having state of the art Operation Theatre, Pathological Lab, X-ray and ultra Sonography is functional since October 1998. Shortly bed capacity is likely to be extended to 300 beds. Sufficient number of beds shall be reserved for poor and needy.

Major Achievements

*** Artificial Limb Centre established in April 1996 has been providing artificial limbs free of charge to needy persons. So far more then 410 handicapped persons have been benefited under this scheme.Recently a polio corrective surgery camp was organized at Bhagyoday Tirth Hospital. The hospital provided artificial limbs to 150 children.
*** T.B. Clinic functioning since May 1997 has undertaken around 650 patients and provided them medicines either free of cost or at 50 percent cost as the case may be.
*** Organised over 57 Medical check up camps in different Villages and examined around sixteen thousand patients and provided then medical aid.
*** Leprosy centre is distributing medicine to registered patients.
*** Three ambulances are rendering services to the patients on 'no profit no loss' basis.
*** Around the clock availability of Oxygen Cylinders free of charge to the patients.
*** List of 600 Blood donors in cases of emergency.
*** Financial Aid to-poor and needy patients for treatment outside Sagar.
*** Trust Medicos providing medicine to patients on minimum charges.
*** Naturopathy Hospital and Ayurvedic Hospital are functioning for the last few months.

Donations - Trust has been permitted by the G. O. I. under F.C.R.A. to receive donations from foreign/national residents. Donations to Trust are also eligible for, rebate in Income Tax under Section 80 'G' of the Income Tax Act. Trust is undertaking charitable work for poor and needy residing in far flung Village where hardly any medical aid is available Equipment donated to the Trust will be used for treatment of poor patients who otherwise could in no way have access to the modern diagnostic facilities.
